Video: 2017 Ford GT First-Day Delivery Test

Customer delivery videos of the 2017 Ford GT have started hitting the Internet this month, and fans of the Ford Performance supercar are finally getting a chance watch as owners dive straight into their owner’s manuals and explore some of the advanced features this vehicle has to offer.

While many of us are waiting to see the first video of a new Ford GT owner performing an epic burnout while leaving the dealership for the first time, with a starting price of around $400,000, it just makes sense for these new owners to take it slow and explore all the engineering marvels that this vehicle has to offer.

In a series of videos posted by the Ford GT Forum, a new owner explores the Ford GT’s different drive modes. And more importantly, gives us a closer look at the car’s hydraulic suspension system. The Ford GT has five selectable driving modes and allows the height of the vehicle to be raised and lowered when switching to and from Track/Vmax mode. This is performed by turning the drive mode switch, which is conveniently located on the left side of the steering wheel control cluster.

The normal ride height of the Ford GT is 120mm and will drop all the way down to 70mm in Track/Vmax mode allowing for max aerodynamics. The hydraulic rear wing is also fully activated in these drive modes, providing maximum downforce as well.

These videos even go as far as showing us how to unlock and remotely start a new GT from a smartphone using the FordPass app (see below). How cool is that? The app also keeps you posted on the car’s location, fuel level and service schedule.

It’s also important to point out that these new owners are taking delivery of their new Ford GTs during the winter months when road conditions across the country are a bit sketchy. So while we most likely won’t be seeing any videos of these new owners driving their vehicles hard for another couple months, we are getting the chance to check out some of the cool features that Ford Performance has put into this modern marvel.
