With over 800 horsepower at the crank and a quarter-mile time of high 10s, this HPE800 equipped 2016 Shelby GT350 hits the rollers at Hennessey Performance to find out just how much power this supercharged Voodoo engine powered Mustang makes at the rear wheels.

Like many of the makes and models of cars Hennessey modifies, the HPE800 package for the ’16 GT350 entails an array of exclusive upgrades.

With a limited production of only 50 examples being built for the 2016 model year, the HPE800 GT350 is sure to be a special and unique Mustang, sure to be a legend for years to come.

It’s obvious that the Hennessey powered GT350 has become a whole new animal. The factory 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 has been modified with a new set of 11.0:1 compression forged aluminum pistons which use steel wrist pins and matching forged steel connecting rods. The engine continues to use the factory flat-plane crank, while coupled with a Carbon Fiber high-flow air induction system, a new 2.9-liter supercharger system, upgraded fuel injectors, and an upgraded fuel pump. This combination allows the HPE800 equipped Shelby GT350 to lay down an impressive 680.41 horsepower at the rear wheels, confirming the HPE800 package lives up to it’s acclaimed 800 horsepower at the flywheel.

One thing’s for sure, we’d love to get our hands on one of these HPE800 Shelby Mustangs. Yet with only 50 models to be produced, we’re sure it’ll be one hell of a battle to get the boys in Texas to ship us one to here in California!
