When you’re out enjoying the official NMRA opener this weekend in sunny Bradenton, Florida, keep an eye out for Trisha Linkus who will be running in the True Street class. You can’t miss Trisha in her Gotta Have It Green 2013 Mustang GT, one you may recognize as one of CJ Pony Part’s project vehicles dubbed Gotta Have It Race.
Trisha will be racing in the True Street class, and she will be driving her GHIG Ford Mustang all the way from Baltimore, Maryland to compete in the season opener in Florida. That’s the definition of a true street car. Not only will Trisha be attending the Spring Break Shootout in Florida, she will be attending every NMRA event this season and driving the car to each one.
“My goal is to hit every race, there isn’t much that’s going to prevent me from making the races,” Trisha tells us.
Watch out True Street veterans, Trisha just learned how to drive a standard within the last few months after the purchase of the CJ Mustang. Now her daily driver is equipped with manual transmission so she has gained a lot of practice, and she’ll get even more on her trek from Maryland to Florida.
“I only got to run it once last year before the tracks closed. But I’ve been to the track a million times as a spectator and know how everything works with NMRA and True Street,” says Trisha.
We can’t wait to see Trisha compete in Bradenton’s True Street class and we wish her lots of luck in the 2015 NMRA season!
