It’s not often that an import tuner is able to successfully cross over to the notoriously xenophobic Mustang aftermarket, but that is exactly what Neil Tjin after spending a decade with the import crowd. Tjin’s world started expanding when he was given a new Camaro to prepare for the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV.
Although Tjin had built a custom Pontiac G8 the previous year, being one of eight tuners selected to help showcase the new Camaro’s modification potential created a far more visible stage for his work.
For the 2010 SEMA Show, Tjin built a new 2011 Mustang GT, bringing new and unexpected styling cues to the show floor.
More recently, Tjin has been building his relationship with Vortech Superchargers, showing the Vortech Anniversary Edition Supercharged Tjin Edition Ford 5.0L Mustang at events across the country.
Recent stops have seen the car well received along the East Coast, with stops at the New York Auto Show, the 5th Annual Sonic meet and the Carlisle Power & Style event, as well as others.
At the CBRD Dyno Day, a big modern muscle event near York, PA. The Tjin Edition Ford Mustang was the talk of the show, since it put down 655 horsepower on the dyno earlier that week. Announced last fall, the Vortech Anniversary Edition Superchargers are limited to just 100 produced. Impressive in their stealthy black finish on the supercharger, ducting and intercoolers, these are a sure way for Vortech fans to set themselves far apart from the rest.
Upcoming events for the Tjin Roadshow include the Carlisle Ford Nationals and the OC Car and Truck show, in June, with more to follow through the summer.
