We’ve always known that the new Shelby GT350 was only going to be available in limited numbers, as though its nearly $48,000 starting price didn’t make it exclusive enough. Ford still hasn’t been forthcoming with a number for allocations on the 2016 model yet, but thanks to some Mustang superfans with access to dealer info, we can tell you where the first batch of 2016 GT350s will be heading.

User MAV over at the Mustang6G forums put together this incredible map, which shows which dealerships have had a Shelby GT350 and GT350R VIN and build date associated with them. That means production should be beginning soon, and we can tell where this new Mustang track monster is most popular.

The map shows blue, red, and yellow dots, with the blues being the “base” GT350, while the red dots represent GT350Rs, and the yellow dots are recent additions to the map. As you can tell, the blue dots far outweigh the red. Similarly, the eastern half of the country has by far the most Shelby GT350 allocations, though they’re not spread out evenly. States like Maine and Vermont appear to have just a single Shelby allocation each, while metro clusters like New York City and Detroit have dozens. Yet Seattle has just a handful of Shelby allocations, and while it’s no surprise that there aren’t any Shelbys heading to Alaska, you would have thought at least a couple might make their way to Hawaii.

This isn’t a complete picture yet though, but rather just the vehicles that have been assigned build dates and dealers. With Detroit being in the Eastern time zone (albeit just barely) it makes sense that the first Shelby shipments would work east to west. Do you see your Shelby marked on this map?
