The Ford Lightning Bronco Of Your Dreams Is For Sale

Concept vehicles often provide auto enthusiasts with a glimpse into the world of what is possible. Often, they are a little over the top, but concept vehicles let our imaginations run wild into a fantasy world. However, most of these concepts never come to production. Other dream vehicles never even leave the drawing board.

One dream many Ford enthusiasts have maintained is a full-size Bronco in first-gen Lightning trim. The Bronco has a a cult following and continues to grow in popularity, so much so that Ford is reviving the nameplate in the near future. Performance Auto Sales of China Spring, Texas, has somehow came across a cool example of Ford Bronco. A one-of-none, 1995 Ford Lightning Bronco, and for $14,500, it could be yours!

The front seats and console appear to be straight from a first-generation Lightning. The rear seat was custom recovered to match the factory Lightning front seats.

A build that started with what the seller describes as a rare, red  1995 Ford Bronco optioned with the sports package. Featuring color-keyed red bumpers and grille, the truck now replicates what we would assume a Lightning version of the Bronco would have looked like. Chrome 17-inch Lightning wheels, a GT-40 Lightning intake, GT-40 heads, and Lightning front seats give this Bronco that Lightning look.

The biggest modification to the truck to turn it into true Lightning form was the conversion from four-wheel drive to two-wheel drive. All of the full-size Ford Broncos produced in the US were four-wheel drive. This was probably the main reason we never saw a Lightning Bronco back in the day. A Beltech 3/5 drop completes the look and gives this Lightning Bronco a killer stance.

From the photos, all the work seems well done and at $14,500, the truck is fairly priced considering its unique status. Check it out for yourself here!

In standard form, the 302 in the Bronco would have produced just shy of 200 horsepower, while in Lightning form, this Bronco would have produced somewhere around 240 horsepower.

About the author

Jeff Southard

Growing up with a dad who loved Corvettes, I was destined to be a gearhead from day one. Beyond that, my dad owned an auto parts business for over 25 years. There, I learned the automotive basics as a child, then began my professional career working there after high school. From Corvettes and Superbirds to Hemis and Cobra Jets, my dad has owned a little of everything over the years, so I've had my chance to get some quality seat time behind the wheel of some rare, unique, and sometimes, just odd automobiles. I have owned my share of toys, including over 20 Mustangs. I guess to make a long story short, if you look up "car crazy" you will probably find my photo listed pretty close to it!
