Successful businesses have a number of ways for parting you with your hard earned money. Among them is a series of marketing tactics that offer incentives such as 10% off, extra store bucks, and free shipping. Car makers have their own incentives that often take the form of “Cash Back.” But can a small car company like say, Shelby American, really lure customers with the offer of free shipping?
They seem to think so, as Mustang Evolution reports that Shelby is offering free shipping on its 2012 GT350 and GT500 Super Snake models. But is free shipping enough to convince someone to make a $26,000+ investment?
Maybe. The offer actually extends all the way back too 2007+ Shelby GT500 Super Snake post-title package, which has a starting price of $34,500 (plus the cost of a GT500.) The Super Snake package offers 600 and 750 horsepower (depending on the model year) and only a limited number have ever been the produced.
The same is true for the Shelby GT350, which normally aspirated starts at about $26,000, plus the cost of a Mustang GT, and is also available in limited quantities. But does free shipping make it worth it? Depends on where you live. Shelby American is based out of Nevada, and if you live clear across the country, shipping your car can cost upwards of $2,000. So if you were planning on picking up a new Shelby, now is as good a time as ever. The rest of us will just have to wait for a 50% off deal (as though that will ever happen) before we even consider buying a new Shelby.
