The Shelby GT500KR holds a special place in many of our hearts. The 2008 model celebrated the 40th anniversary of the King of the Road, and it was a unique improvement when compared to the already lethal GT500.
“The ‘King of the Road’ version of the GT500 was released as a limited-edition model that began life as a Shelby GT500 Mustang, which was shipped to the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas, where upfitting to KR status was performed before being shipped to the selling dealer,” according to Ford.
