If you suffer from champagne tastes and a beer budget, your dreams of owning a Shelby GT350 Mustang just took a step closer to reality. The 2011 2011 Win-A-Shelby raffle has been announced and the prize is Carroll Shelby’s own prototype #3 of the 2011 Shelby GT350.

Proceeds from the raffle support the Carroll Shelby Foundation, which provides financial support for children battling life-threatening illnesses and to promote continuing education. For more information, please visit the Raffle’s web site.

“The new GT350 is a serious car,” noted Carroll Shelby, founder of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “This raffle will give someone the chance to take home one of the best cars that Shelby American has ever built, while helping the Foundation support our youth.”

The original Shelby GT350 Mustang was introduced in 1965 and was widely successful in both road and drag racing. Just over a thousand GT350s were sold to Hertz Rent-A-Car for use as rental cars known as the GT350H.

The 2011 prototype’s 5.0-liter supercharged engine produces 624 hp, giving the GT350 a 0-60 mph time of just 3.7 seconds. The Shelby GT350 also includes include Shelby performance suspension, brake, tire/wheel, and interior and exterior styling enhancements.

Raffle tickets are $25 each, or $100 for five tickets. The winner will be announced in June 2011 at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction in Costa Mesa, CA. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation.
