With 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque from the factory, the ’15 Ecoboost Mustang is no slouch out of the box. While some owners are happy with what Ford has given them from the factory, some enthusiasts are craving more. So what do you do when you’re an EcoBoost owner, and you find yourself in that situation? You might hit up Shelby American for its just released Shelby GT Package for the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang.
This week at its Las Vegas, Nevada head quarters, Shelby announced that the company will be offering a new package for a new lineup globally, which is the new Shelby GT package for the 2015 EcoBoost Mustang. Historically speaking, up until less than 5 years ago, Shelby American’s demographic was primarily driven (no pun intended) to the Mustang community and its owners. But with technology increasing over time, cars like the Focus ST and the ’15 EcoBoost Mustang EcoBoost have found their way onto Shelby’s radar because of their potential.
The package entails a lot of upgrades over a stock EcoBoost Mustang. Exterior changes such as Shelby striping, badges, and a load of carbon fiber exterior pieces including a front splitter, hood, rear spoiler, upper & lower grilles, and rocker panels are included in the package. The suspension has been refined as well using Ford Performance upgraded suspension components, and with this package from Shelby, you can definitely expect an increase in horsepower. The car comes in at an impressive 335 horsepower, thanks to a Ford Performance exhaust system and a custom Shelby ECU calibration for use with 91 octane fuel. While there are a lot of upgrades on the standard Shelby GT package, which is priced just shy of $24,000 (not including the car itself), EcoBoost owners have the chance to upgrade additional components from Shelby’s catalog.
Akos Feher, Vice President of Operations for Shelby American confirms this, stating “We now offer Mustang owners everything from aggressive Shelby carbon fiber aesthetic touches to legendary tuning and performance for both the V8 and EcoBoost cars.”

Shelby has spent a lot of time, research, and development of the new their new GT package, including extensive testing on the track. Because the EcoBoost is now sold globally, Shelby can offer its customers the packages worldwide. This of course attributes to the recently announced network of new Shelby “mod shops” in Europe, South Africa, China, and Australia.
