As we get closer to the 2015 Mustang’s debut on dealer lots, the streets of America, and the world, more photos and videos are leaking out of the media daily.
In this video, we get to watch as MLive reporter Ben Raven gets an opportunity to ride around Michigan International Speedway with NASCAR star Greg Biffle at the helm of the 2015 Mustang GT Pace Car. Although the video is short at about a minute in length, we still get to experience the sights and sounds of the ’15 GT from inside the car.
Unfortunately there’s another reporter asking Biffle questions about his racing experience at MIS, which doesn’t give us a chance to fully experience the healthy exhaust note.
We could have done without the canned questions and just enjoyed the ride around the track, but regardless, this quick ride-along only heightens our anticipation of the new car’s appearance in the wild. It’s not often an all-new Mustang comes around, and the independent suspension has us salivating at the capabilities of the new platform.
The 2015 Mustang GT served as the Pace Car in this past weekend’s Quicken Loans 400 at MIS; Biffle was the defending champion of the event. He finished 20th after starting the race in the number 18 position – he was the last car on the lead lap to cross the finish line.
Job 1 on the 2015 Mustang is slated to happen on August 11th at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant – the order bank opened in May and scheduling began just five days ago on June 12th. The car is expected to arrive in dealerships in the 4th quarter.
