With more than six months in development, Ferrea Racing Components has unleashed it’s Ford 5.0 package on the racing and street market. Zeke Urrutia, Director of Marketing at Ferrea, told us, “We’re pretty excited to get involved in this platform. We’ve spent some time finding the right components, valves, locators and seals, to make this a quality package for racing and street performance.”
The Ford 32 valve 5.0 liter “Coyote” powerplant features the dual overhead cam design with independent variable cam timing that allows the engine controller to adjust timing on the exhaust and intake valves independently of each other. This combo allows for a high revving motor. Right now the limiting factor in this engine is the cam. When the public starts swapping out cams to get some more ponies and RPMs out of the Coyote, Ferrea’s 5.0 liter valvetrain package for the 2011 engine versions should be seriously considered.
Ferrea’s package consists of high tensile stainless steel intake and super alloy exhaust valves with high performance valve springs, retainers, spring seat locators and valve seals. The right combination of valve train components will get the 5.0 liter up to RPM quicker and higher than it does off the showroom floor, which is already impressive to start with.

Ferrea has also advanced their line of lifters with the lightweight Pro Solid lifter series. Designed for the racing community that wants a lighter valvetrain for rapid RPM without sacrificing any strength, the Pro Solid lifters have the look of regular solid lifters but feel much lighter.
Features of the Pro Solid Lifter:
- Manufactured from tool steel alloy.
- CNC machined inner cavity for tight tolerances.
- Forged reinforced pushrod seat.
- Heat treated for strength.
- Extra lubrication by means of the .025″ oiling hole in the lifter face.
