Courtesy of a gent by the name of ViolentDreams via Mustang6G.com, we have an exciting look at what’s in store for the Shelby GT350 for the 2017 model year.
It looks as if Ford has plans to make some of the current GT350 model’s options now available standard, and will even include a few new exterior changes.
Standard equipment for the 2017 Shelby GT350 will include the aluminum tower-to-tower brace, transmission and differential coolers, and the (optional as of now) Continuously Controlled MagneRide Damping System. This brings most of the equipment from the previously optional Track Package to standard equipment on the GT350. As such, the Track Package has been deleted for the 2017 model and replaced with an optional Convenience Package, while enthusiasts also have the option to add an Electronics Package on the 2017 Shelby GT350.
The 2017 Shelby GT350 also receives a raised decklid spoiler now standard, and three exterior paint options have been added; Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue, and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, while the current Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange will be discontinued.
The changes made for the 2017 model year bring forth many benefits over the previous ’15-’16 Shelby GT350 and GT350R models. Enthusiasts now have the option to equip both optional packages on their GT350, which brings a new aspect of high-performance and practicality to the GT350 market.
It also confirms that the GT350 won’t be softening up any time soon, as hardcore racing enthusiasts still have the option of purchasing a barebones minimalist version from Ford.
The future of the Shelby GT350 is looking pretty bright if we do say so ourselves. Check out some of the details on the new packages here.
