Ford has always been a company known for its charitable work, and in recent years it has turned to big-name collector car auctions to raise huge sums of money for noble causes. In recent years Ford has been especially intent on auctioning off the first production models of cars like the Shelby GT500, often auctioning them off for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
This September, Ford will continue the tradition with a one-off 2013 Shelby GT500. The Mustang News reports that a one-off racing-inspired GT500 will be sold off at the Get Your Heart Racing Charity Auction September 22nd.
With 2012 marking the 45th anniversary of the GT500, the Henry Ford Hospital called on the creative design talents of Melvin Betancourt to produce a racing-inspired GT500 for this auction. Wearing a special white paint scheme with white 20-inch wheels. The white-on-white theme continues on the inside with special white Recaro racing seats, giving this GT500 a very angelic appearance.
It’s a different look from the racing stripe-equipped GT500’s, and we’re sure the fact that the proceeds are going to charity will serve to send the bidding price sky high. A white-on-white-on-white Shelby is a rare beast indeed, and many bidders are sure to want this unique car for their own collection.
