Ask any hardcore Mustang enthusiast what their dream car is and most of them will most likely mention the classic BOSS 429. Those and the rest of the Mustang community may find this interesting. This Resto-mod Ford Mustang has been named the “BOSS 557” and for good reason. The heart of the beast is a 460 CI block that has been bored and stroked out to a mean 557 cubic-inches. This thing is putting out an impressive 800-HP and 750 lb.-ft. of torque.

To go along with the healthy 557 V8, this ‘Stang also features Kaase Boss 9 aluminum heads connected to a Kaase alloy intake and a 1050 CFM Holley carb. It features a Billet Specialties pulley system and custom-fabricated 2 1/4-inch headers with sliding cutouts. The entire system has ceramic chrome coating from top to finish. The large BOSS 429 Ram Air hood scoop is completely functional while adding a menacing muscle look to the front that is sure to have people changing lanes in front of you, if the rumble hasn’t already.

Let’s not forget the TKO 5-speed manual transmission and hydraulic clutch complete with Hurst shifter and the reinforced 9-inch Detroit Locker center section and 3.91 gears and 35-spline axles. The fully integrated roll cage is a nice safety feature if you’re planning on taking it out balls to the wall, and with 800-HP who wouldn’t want to? The Heidts front and rear (4-link) suspension with adjustable coilovers is sure to give it awesome handling and the four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes will make sure this monster has some serious stopping power.

The black interior has some tasteful painted accents, white-faced gauges, padded steering wheel, and billet hardware throughout. This bad boy did snag “Best Ford in a Ford” Award upon its debut at the 2009 Bowling Green Goodguys event.

If you’re interested in this one-of-a-kind “BOSS 557”, it is appearing Thursday by Mecum.
