The Shelby GT500 is one of the wildest cars to ever come from Detroit. With pavement-destroying levels of power and torque and its live rear axle, the GT500 was made to drag race. Even in its tamest version, the GT500 still makes nearly 500 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel.

Ford’s engineers had an extremely difficult job on their hands, keeping all of that torque under control. They engineered the factory clutch to adequately handle stock power levels. But once a GT500 owner begins adding more boost or nitrous oxide, the OE clutch simply cannot cope over the long haul. Thankfully, Centerforce now has a solution: the DYAD DS multi-disc clutch setup.

The DYAD DS multi-disc clutch system offers extremely high holding capacity while retaining stock-like noise levels and easy-to-modulate pedal feel. It utilizes Centerforce’s patented ball-bearing pressure plate, multi-disc floating/drive disc design and the Centerforce centrifugal weight system. The DYAD DS requires no special set up or adjustment, and it comes fully assembled with ARP hardware. Also, each DYAD includes a detailed inspection form, giving the owner all the specifications about their new clutch. With a torque holding capacity of over 1,300 lb-ft at the flywheel, the DYAD DS is engineered to handle most high-horsepower scenarios.
