It’s an amazing time to be an automotive enthusiast, and not just because automakers and the aftermarket are churning out their most powerful cars and components ever. We live in an age where for a few hundred bucks, you can get professional-quality video cameras that will literally withstand falling from the edge of space to capture all the high-octane action, allowing creative daredevils to put together some truly remarkable videos.
ICON Motorsports slapped together a silly storyline about stunt drivers fleeing south of the border as an excuse to record some high-quality drifting action. In addition to a pair of hopped-up motorcycles, two Mustangs from different eras join in, along with Hollywood star Dax Shepard in a beat-up, off-roading BMW 7 Series. Seriously.
At nearly 14-minutes in length, this isn’t your usual “let’s get sideways” video affair. It’s got some NSFW language (you’ve been warned) and stars a whole bunch of hooligans you’re probably not familiar with. Of course the real stars are the two customized Ford Mustangs, one from the first generation while the other was plucked from the later years of the S197.
Not all the action is relegated to Mexico though, as the crew moves through Miami with some late-night street drifting action (closed course, professional drivers, blah blah blah). This is far from your typical “GoPro camera at a track day” video, with both the cinematography and editing being top-notch. So get comfortable, kick back, and enjoy the show, because you’re going to want to watch this one from beginning to end…and then maybe once more for good measure.
