If you own a car long enough, it becomes more than just a means of transport; it can become like another member of the family. While most people trade-in, sell, or scrap their old cars, other people pass them down from one family member to the next. These cars become so much more than the sum of their parts.
Which makes it all the more awful when they got stolen by some scumbag thieves. News10 reports that a classic Ford Mustang was stolen outside of a high school where Tanner Frkovich attends, a Mustang that was owned by his mother and grandfather before him.
The red 1965 Ford Mustang was a family heirloom in more ways than one. The Mustang was bought new by Tanner’s grandfather, Larry Corr, who helped Tanner and his mother restore the classic pony car this past winter. Like his other family members before him, Tanner regularly drove the car, including to class at Woodcreek High School in Granite Bay, California.
But Tanner came out of class one day to find that the Mustang had been stolen. This isn’t the first classic Mustang to go missing in the area. In nearby Davis, California, another Mustang was stolen in front of a high school, leading us to wonder if these crimes are being committed by the same people.
While both of Tanner’s sisters got Mustangs after graduating college, there is no replacing a car that has been in the family as long as the ‘65 was. Hopefully, the police and/or karma catch up to the thief, and return this heirloom to its rightful owners.
