It’s Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls. This week we would like to introduce Valerie Gavin and her 2012 Grabber Blue 5.0.

Valerie first fell in love with Mustangs when she was 12 years old. She was watching Speed TV and there was a 67 fastback featured. “After I watched the show, I went to my mom and told her when I was old enough I was going to buy a Mustang”.  At the age of 18 Valerie  went to her local Ford dealership and told them she was there to purchase the Gun Metal 2005 Mustang that was in the showroom. It took awhile for them to actually believe her, but eventually  a sales manager who knew Valerie helped her out. She didn’t know how to drive standard at the time so she asked the salesman to just tell her what to do. Valerie left the dealership with her first Mustang and checked off her first time driving a stick.  From that point on Valerie’s love for Mustangs just got stronger. In 2008 she traded the gun metal 2005 for a candy apple 2008 convertible. But deep down inside she was always wanting a blue one, her favorite color. “2011 was the best year ever, they were coming back with the Grabber Blue! I picked up the phone called my local dealership, who now knew me very well, and placed a order for the 2012 grabber blue 5.0. They called Ford in Detroit and ordered it exactly how I wanted it”.

While Valerie was waiting for her car to be built she decided she was going to find a 1986 LX to build up for racing. She managed to  find one and her husband helped her build it into her race car.  Valerie’s husband is the owner of DaSilva Racing Mustang Toy Store in the GTA. It’s a Mustang owner’s dream shop. When they were finished with the ’86 it ran 10.60 in the 1/4 mile at 132 mph. “Then my 2012 arrived and I felt like I was in heaven, it was exactly what I dreamed. It’s an official  RTR and has Vaughn Gittin Jr’s plaque”.

“10 years ago I meet my husband because of the love of Mustangs but that’s a whole other story. I am apart of all kinds of Mustang clubs, RMR, DRMC, GTAMC, Toronto Mustang Club, DaSilva Racing, and so many more.”
