It’s Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls. This week we would like to introduce you to Rebecca Fielder and her 2007 GT.

Rebecca’s obsession with Mustangs didn’t actually start out there. It started with her grandfather, and a primer grey 1935 Auburn. Rebecca was only 4 1/2 years old, and her little sister had just been born. “She was fussy and a handful so I found myself in the garage with my grandfather a lot, to give my mom a break”. Rebecca loved watching his weathered hands sand the primer and filler with care, as he restored a junk yard find, into a notable piece of history. Fast forward 10 years, and it was Rebecca and her father in the garage, dropping a racing engine into a 1979 Corvette Stingray, asking all kinds of questions, helping in any way he would let her, learning about throttle positioning and suspension parts. The day he finally turned the key in the ignition, and the engine roared to life, was the day she knew her heart was set on a mean, loud, muscle car.

Rebecca didn’t start out with anything particularly fast or showy, inheriting her mom’s Jeep Cherokee, and then trading it in for a 93 Plymouth Duster. After that, more small two-door coupes followed. She didn’t want to spend a lot of money and saved until she could afford what her heart was really after… Then 2 years ago, she was watching a Dodge dealership nearby, trying to find a used Dodge Challenger SRT, driving by regularly to see what was featured on the lot. And then Rebecca saw her.

“Silver, Sexy, Mean, with all the right lines and all the right options. I nearly gave myself whip lash in order to get a better look”. Rebecca pulled into the dealership and all it took was one test drive, 10 minutes of her life, and she knew she had to have it. She traded the keys of her current ride and added in her savings making her the proud owner of a 2007 Mustang GT.

The car is Tungsten grey with Cervini’s Ram Air hood, ROUSH bumper, Dynomax exhaust, hood pins, and lots of extra little bells and whistles inside. Rebecca was in love. “While I haven’t been able to afford to invest a ton of money into her yet, to make it more ‘me’, I feel like the previous owner of this car knew me in some way, because it was how I would have imagined doing it myself. I felt like, even after having my driver’s license for 15 years, I hadn’t experienced driving “for real” before. It was all new, different. I smile every day when the engine turns over and my girl roars to life, and I pull onto the road. That grin is ear to ear, because I will never love any car, like I have loved, and will continue to love, this one.”
