Mustang Girl Monday: Four Ponies For Tracianne Sharfenova

It’s Mustang Girl Monday brought to you by Team Mustang Girls. This week we’re on the road to the SEMA show but had to take a moment to introduce you to Tracianne Sharfenova and her Stangs.

Tracianne grew up tomboy who never liked dolls, if someone made the mistake of buying her one she would destroy it! She grew up watching The Dukes of Hazard, Knight Rider, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run and anything with car chases. That’s where her need for speed started. But it was no surprise because she had racing in her blood, her family includes both race car drivers and auto mechanics.
Trancianne remembers going to monster truck shows and weekend car cruises with her mom and brother listening to ’50s and ’60s music. She enjoyed many of the cars but took a special liking to the American Muscle Cars, her favorite was the Mustang. It was then she decided she wanted a Mustang and pictured herself in a red 1966 Convertible.
When Tracianne turned 16 her dream came true, well, sort of…. She bought her first mustang, a 1993 LX four-cylinder. It wasn’t a red 1966 Convertible but it was a brand new Mustang and it was all hers! Yes, she wanted the GT 5.0 5 speed but as a teenager the four-banger was what she could afford. So she fixed up her hot new ride and named her “Teal Fantasy.” Tracianne gave up a lot of high school fun to work for the car payment and insurance but for her, it was worth it!

In 1999 Tracianne bought her second Mustang, a 1999 GT Convertible with the Limited 35th Anniversary Package. The car was fully loaded with a 5 speed 4.6L and 260 hp. It was her dream car, fast but sophisticated. The car hugged the road around the corners and had a lot of get up and go. Tracianne enjoyed driving the car, “Especially in the early spring or late fall in the cool air, top down and heat pumping. “99 Legend was her name as she was Legendary”. Tracianne started taking her Mustang to car shows and events and even the quarter-mile. That’s where she got her feet wet and a taste for racing and she liked it!
Sadly, the Legend’s time on this earth ended before it should have. With only 16,000 miles on her, someone crashed and totaled Tracianne’s baby a week before her birthday. She was devastated to say the least. She laid low from the Mustang scene for a little while, but before she knew it the itch was there, the need to drive a Mustang once again.
Fortunately, her brother was selling one of his Mustangs and she decided to buy it, a 1993 5.0 LX Convertible. It is a one of the limited Summer Edition cars with only 1,503 made. Cruising with the top down once again with the wind in her hair, Tracianne remembered that feeling that freedom. She started going to shows with her brother, he also had a another Summer Edition, a Red 1992 LX Convertible. “People would call them mustard and ketchup,” but she didn’t mind. The cars were beautiful and she was enjoying time with my brother and our cars.

Last year Tracianne stumbled upon her 4th Mustang when she stopped by her local car dealer to “browse” at a few mustangs. After looking at 2 2013 red mustangs with black interior, she thought why not test drive one for fun.
As she was walking to the building entrance it was love at first. That was the moment she laid eyes on Thunder, a pristine white 2013 5.0 GT 6-speed with 420 hp and Brick Red interior.
After test driving the car she need she had to have her and a week later she brought Thunder home. This summer Tracianne went back to the race track after 14 years and tested out Thunder’s and her racing abilities on the 1/4 mile. Her first run was 14.59 at 102 mph and by the end of the day had it down to 13.93 at 104mph. She knew this was just the beginning and now has it down to 13.59 at 107mph.
She’s not just in it for the fun parts.Tracianne has been learning about cars and how to work on them since she was little. Her brother’s been both her teacher and mentor. She does all her own oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, tune ups, and minor repairs. “If my brother can talk me through it and I can fix it using a jack stand or ramps I do it!” She’s also become an OCD detailer and has acquired the name “Detail Queen” by her club members. As a member of Stang Gang New York, WMR # 1181 and TAG # 038 # 039, Tracianne doesn’t hide her love. “When I think of my Mustang, I think of a way of life. It’s a passion, it’s friendship, it’s a family”.
