The original 1969 BOSS Mustang was available in a wide array of high-intensity colors that were attention-grabbing and badass-looking. The new BOSS 302 Mustang is no different, with a variety of color combinations to choose from…though oddly enough, the racetrack-ready Laguna Seca Edition is available in fewer color combinations, excluding some popular choices for exterior colors.
It could be so they can auction off these cars as one-offs. The Henry Ford Health System is auctioning off a 2012 BOSS 302 Mustang Laguna Seca Edition painted School Bus Yellow.
This is much like the auction last winter of a one-of-one Grabber Blue BOSS 302 Laguna Seca Edition Mustang. That money (about $200,000) went to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It is unclear if this auction will also benefit the same charity, or the Henry Ford Health System, a non-profit health care system founded back in 1915 by Henry Ford himself.
Other than the School Bus Yellow paint job, the Laguna Seca Edition BOSS 302 Mustang will otherwise be your standard track-ready racer. With a 444 horsepower BOSS 302 V8, rear-seat delete, aerodynamics kit, Brembo brakes and Recaro racing seats, the BOSS 302 Laguna Seca Edition is ready for track detail when you are. Just don’t expect to see this one-of-one School Bus Yellow BOSS on the track as well. This my friends is destined to be a show piece.
