More often than not if a vehicle goes in one door at the Livernois Motorsports shop up in Michigan, it comes out the other a completely badass version of its former self. And that may seem like quite a tall order when your starting point is a Shelby GT500, but that’s exactly what they’ve done.

The list of modifications that the authors of horsepower at Livernois have done to this car is a mile and a half long, and we’ve posted the full spec list for those interested below, but the end result is this video of a lap on the dyno that registered an astounding 1,006 rear wheel horsepower and 916 ft-lbs of rear wheel torque. This from a 358 cubic inch aluminum block powerplant, featuring goodies like Livernois CNC heads and Stage 1C camshafts, a 4.0L Whipple supercharger and the works, all fed through a Centerforce DFX Series single disc clutch. With that kind of monster power and torque, a twin-disc just might be in order.
