Last week famed Mustang tuner Kenny Brown announced to the world that he was getting ready to re-enter the world of niche aftermarket sports cars. Of course the base car would have to be a Mustang, and so it was that Kenny Brown teased us with these shots of the still-wrapped and unnamed “Super Mustang” that he had developed.
Well the wrapper has come off, and we have the first naked pictures and full details on what Kenny Brown is called the GT4-CS Autobahn Edition Mustang.
That’s a mouthful, but for good reason; Kenny Brown has left no stone unturned in his quest to build the ultimate track Mustang. First let’s start at the heart of this beast, the 5.0 liter Coyote V8. After being massaged and tuned by Kenny Brown, the 5.0 makes an estimated 485 horsepower thanks to a Boss 302 intake, cold air intake, sport exhaust, 92 octane tune, and a racing oil pan and pickup.
While a Hurst shifter tops the transmission, the real work went into the suspension. There, Kenny Brown installed his own Matrix Chassis Support system, a lower K-member load brace, jacking rails, and a serious roll cage. Brown’s GT-4 suspension system found its way onto all four corners of the Mustang, along with adjustable shocks and springs. Big Baer brakes supply stopping power.
As far as a functional exterior goes, Kenny Brown has installed a heat-extracting carbon fiber hood along with a monstrous spoiler to keep the Mustang’s booty firmly planted on the ground. From the trunk-located battery to the rear seat delete, this is a track day Mustang through and through. No word on pricing…but we can tell you that whatever it is, the cost of entry to this track-ready super Mustang is worth every penny.
