Recently Ford invited Mustang fans to create personalized pony badges via the online Pony Personalizer to celebrate the arrival of the 2018 Mustang. Starting this July, some of those images will show up on digital billboards across the country, so your custom pony might just get its 15 minutes of fame.

“There’s no better way to celebrate Mustang tradition than to ask our fans to build a customization profile that’s uniquely their own,” Corey Holter, Ford car group marketing manager, said. “This brand has long been about giving Mustang enthusiasts the keys to drive their own experience, and it’s through this activation with OUTFRONT Media that we are able to showcase their contribution in a new and meaningful way.”

If you created your own running horse emblem on Ford’s online Pony Personalizer, you might just see your handiwork galloping by on a billboard.

Enthusiasts can also purchase prints, clothes, and limited-edition grille badges based on these creations. If that weren’t enough, now your painted pony might just rub custom hoofs with these celeb ’Stangs on the billboard big screen. Alongside Mustang fans, several celebrities added their own personal ponies to the mix, including the likes of Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr.

“OUTFRONT Media is thrilled to partner on this exciting, engaging initiative,” Jodi Senese, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at OUTFRONT Media, enthused. “Our premium digital assets, in concert with the colorful Mustang logos as visualized by fans, connects the online to the physical and highly visible delivery of out-of-home assets.”

It’s not too late to click over to the site and personalize your own pony, and from now until the end of July you can look out for these works of automotive art on billboards around Atlanta, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Phoenix, and San Antonio.
