While the 2014 SEMA show was stampeded with many variations of the new S550 Mustang, many more generations of the iconic car were on hand for enthusiasts to enjoy. One example at SEMA this year that garnered its fair share of spectators, was Junior Garcia’s fourth generation pony, a 2000 Mustang GT Convertible.
Garcia purchased this horse, three years ago, it has been on a slow and steady trot preparing for SEMA 2014. With a goal to create a car that would stand out from the rest of the pony pack, Garcia, set out on a mission to create a street legal performance ride unique in appearance. Garcia began by treating the cabin with Carbon Driven carbon fiber accessories, a Steeda shifter, LED lightning by Diode Dynamics, and TMI Sport R seats.
Moving to the exterior to create a more aggressive stance Garcia added Maier Racing fender flares and 03 Cobra bumpers for a widebody appearance, along with Rennen Forged wheels and Toyo Proxes T1 Sport tires. He swapped out the factory hood with a Trubifer Carbon fiber three inch cowl hood completing the outer transformation.
The car is powered by a built, fully forged, 4.6 liter power plant with ARP hardware, and a Trick Flow intake manifold. The setup is breathed on by a Paxton Supercharger. Not yet dyno’d Garcia estimates power in the range of 480 to 500 horsepower.
The car sits on an air ride suspension. 2003 Cobra brakes and R1 concept custom rotors were added for improved stopping power. Finishing off with an angry soundtrack a MAC Performance exhaust system has also been installed. This the latest ride, brought to us by our friends at Rate My Ridez. What else would you add to power up this dark horse?
