Jason Lee, Strange Engineering Team Up For Another 275 Title Run

Reigning NMCA and NMRA Drag Radial champion Jason Lee, who carried the Strange Engineering banner during his double-up title run in 2011, has announced a continuation of his partnership with the Illinois-based manufacturer and a fresh new look for his familiar PTP Racing 1985 Mustang GT.

Lee’s machine will carry a new carbon fiber-themed Strange Engineering wrap this season, which will compliment the new 362 cubic inch that was built and flogged on the dyno over the winter. Lee’s new bullet will be paired with the brand spankin’ new F1-X ProCharger that’s been all the talk in the X275 community as the season draws near.

Lee is already at the South Georgia Motorsports Park this week for the much-anticipated ORTC opener, where he’s reportedly reeled off some stout 4.6-second elapsed times in pre-race testing, albeit not at race weight. From there, the PTP Racing squad will head down to Bradenton, Fla. for the NMRA opener the following weekend as the racing season starts to heat up.

Lee pulled off the double-up title run last season in his first year under the Strange Engineering banner despite some stout competition on the NMRA side, and armed with the new engine and supercharger combination, the rest of the field in both series may have their hands full once again.
