It wouldn’t be spring break, and it definitely wouldn’t be NMRA Spring Break Shootout without the annual Hooters party. People come to the event just for the shenanigans that happen at Hooters.
First of all, the burnout contest is out of control. You can’t drive through the parking lot without doing one. You will almost get dragged out of your car if you don’t do one. Second, if you like Mustangs, and if you’re reading this that should be a no-brainer, there a ton of fast Mustangs to browse over in the parking lot. And because of that, the place is packed with like-minded Mustang fans.
Safe to say, Hooters of Bradenton becomes over run with Mustangs, and Mustang enthusiasts starting at sundown. If you want to get a good parking spot like Al Davis in the above photo, you might have to get their earlier than that, but then you would miss out on the racing at Bradenton Motorsports Park.
Since the Spring Break Shootout qualifying starts with a round on Friday, you can check out round 1, and then head to 4908 14th St. West, Bradenton, FL, 34207. If your GPS is broken, or you drive a Fox Mustang built before the days of navigation you can call them for directions, and perhaps call-ahead seating if it’s available, at (941) 758-1175.
But you can also drive into Bradenton and look for smoke, and then a sea of Mustangs…you’ll know you’re in the right place. The action stats next week, and we’ll be in Bradenton to bring it all to you here.
