The 2012-13 Boss 302 Mustang brings with it a lot of heritage and nostalgia, a time of seemingly endless horsepower, cheap fuel, and fast cars. It was also a time of brightly-colored cars that stood out like a (very attractive) sore thumb. Then the 70’s came, with their many shades of yellow and brown, followed by the more traditional 80’s and 90’s. But something happened with the turn of the millennium, and retro cars made a comeback. With them came retro colors.
The 2013 Boss 302 Mustang will benefit from not one, but two new colors going into the new year. On display at the North American International was the Gotta Have It Green Boss 302 Mustang, bringing an emerald huge back to the muscle car lineup.
Having seen this car in person, we think it looks mighty good, and it is a great throwback to the days of colorfully-dressed cars. Gotta Have It Green will be available on standard Boss 302 Mustang models, though no word on the Laguna Seca models. Another new color joining the lineup will be School Bus Yellow, giving Boss Mustang buyers another way to fondly remember back to those days of muscle car yore.
Of course, there is more new stuff to the 2013 Mustang than just a few new colors. For one the LED taillights are nice, as is the new gauge cluster, and the more aggressive front fascia borrowed from the GT500. Combined with this new green color, it all makes for a sexy Mustang.
We think this new color is hot, but what do you think? Is there any color you’d rather have on your fantasy Boss mustang?
