The Ford GT really is unlike any Blue Oval-badged product built in the automaker’s long history, a true exotic automobile built to perform in every meaningful way. Wearing a superlight carbon fiber body and powered by a 600 horsepower twin-turbo V6 with just 3.5 liters of displacement, the Ford GT has more in common with today’s Ferraris than its forebearers. This also extends to the rumored price of around $600,000.
With such a high cost of entry, most of us will only be able to experience the Ford GT through the magic of video games, specifically Forza Motorsport 6. In addition to the Ford GT gracing the cover of the new Forza game, it will also be a playable and fully upgradeable vehicle. YouTube channel AR12Gaming grabbed some of the first 60 frame-per-second footage of Forza Motorsport 6, and what better car to showcase the new game’s graphic improvements than the Ford GT?
As the latest entry into the critically-acclaimed Forza series, Forza Motorsport 6 brings a number of new options, upgrades, race tracks, and of course cars to the living rooms of gamers everywhere. Players will be able to pick and choose whatever upgrades they want for their vehicle of choice, and if buyers pre-order, they get access to special “Forza Edition” versions of cars like the Ford Focus ST.
With the cars being the star of the game, a lot of attention to detail went into making them as true to life as possible. In the case of the Ford GT, this includes the up-and-down action of its active aero management i.e. the rear spoiler. Reflecting back on that rumored $600,000 price tag though, the $60 for a new video game seems much more palatable.
