This is one auction that any hardcore Shelby fan may want to attend, especially if they’re in the market for a new one and have the cash to spend. This year five special-edition 50th anniversary Shelby’s will hit the auction block at the sixth annual Boca Raton Councours D’Elegance hosted by Mercedes-Benz. This year at the Concours d’ Elegance, they will be honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra and of James Bond. Not only that but they will be honoring the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Aston Martin. This huge commemoration will go on February 24 through 26, 2012 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, FL.

The five Shelby’s to actually cross the block will be a 1962 Cobra 289which is one of only 50 built. Two 1965 Special-edition Cobra 427s (a CSX6063 and a CSX6100) custom built specifically for the winning bidder. A 2012 Shelby GT-500 Super Snake producing a staggering 800-HP which is another one of 50 produced. The last one to be auctioned off is a 2012 Shelby GT-350 which is also one of 50 made. All proceeds of the Shelby auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

Besides the Shelby’s, Bidders will have the opportunity to own the first new exotic cars delivered to the states. These cars consist of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador, the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C, the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth, and the 2012 Audi R8 V10 GT Spyder which is one of only 50 built for the US and the only one painted in brilliant red.

During the evening, Carroll Shelby will be presented with the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award along with Edsel Ford and John Staluppi, the Lee Iacocca Award will be presented to Bob and Paul Milhous.
