Event Alert: Goodguys 34th All American Get-Together In Pleasanton

The first Goodguys event was held over 33 years ago in 1983, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California. The one-day show, held on a Saturday, welcomed slightly over 650 cars from all years, makes, and models of domestic cars and trucks. The association called it an “All-American Get-Together.” The event has been so successful that this weekend is the 34th All-American Get-Together in Pleasanton.

The “Get-Together” events host all years of domestic automobiles, and some import automobiles with domestic powertrains, which are one of the few events where the post-musclecar era and modern cars can attend a show of this stature. The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association is expecting over 3,000 American made or powered hot rods, customs, classics, musclecars and trucks of all years at this year’s event.

Special to this event is the Goodguys Fights Hunger food drive. The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association has teamed up with the Alameda County community food bank to fight against hunger and provide food for those in the community. Bring two canned goods, two non-perishable items or dontate $3.00 or more at the spectator gates and get a $3.00 discount off of an adult general admission ticket.

As the lead in video indicates, the Goodguys AutoCross will be active and is an opportunity for registered participants at the show to put their Street Rod, Truck or Street Machine through the paces to test their driving skills and see how their car handles in a performance situation. The Goodguys AutoCross course is situated inside the event venue and will have plenty of turns and curves to test even the best tuned suspension and driver skills.

All participants will be timed and at the end of the event, one winner from each of the Street Rod, Truck and Street Machine classes will take home an award and gift certificates from sponsors. The prizes will be presented during the Sunday awards show. Seat belts and a valid driver’s license are required and you must be 18 years or older to drive the course. Just bring your registered/ street legal vehicle to the AutoCross tech area at the event to get inspected and you are ready to run.
