If you’ve ever wanted to own a Ford Cobra, you know that they can be very expensive. This is part of the reason that so many replicas are created from kits.
Recently, a private seller posted a 1965 Ford Cobra replica on eBay. The car was created to original specifications and can be purchased with no emission regulation hassles.
This ’65 Cobra replica sports a 351 Windsor V8 and a five-speed manual transmission. The Cobra also has a 9-inch Ford rear end, Edelbrock 355 carburetor and four-wheel disc brakes. The replica has only 11,000 miles on it.
Painted in a deep purple, the two Champaign stripes across the hood and rear of the car match the upholstery in the interior. Chrome side exhaust, roll bar, side mirrors and trim complete the car.
From the pictures and description, the car looks like it has been very well maintained. The seller even states that the car is used primarily for weekend outings and car shows.
As many of you know, California emissions are very strict. The car is currently owned and registered in California under SB-100. This means that the car is exempt from emissions and registration won’t be any hassle. The car includes the California-issued VIN stamped on the frame.
The original posting for this car ended on May 17th but the car was reposted until May 25th because it did not sell. Both posts have this car listed at $27,500. It says in the ad that the current owner of the vehicle is a car collector and is looking for other projects. This is why the car is up for sale at a fraction of the amount it cost to build it. If you’re interested in buying this car, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in it so you may have a good chance of taking it home.
