To this day, the Chevy Nomad remains one of the most sought-after station wagons in history. It was a sporty, two-door station wagon that was fast, practical, and fun. While other famous muscle cars like the Chevelle had wagon variants, Ford never had a station wagon version of the Mustang. That left skillful fans to do the work themselves.

Legend has it that around the same time Ford was designing a Mustang station wagon of its own, Barney Clark commissioned Intermeccania to build a Mustang wagon. The car graced many a magazine and was well received. So well in fact that many companies have come and gone hawking these station wagon conversions, and obviously these cars are still a big draw to this day. It is strange then that Ford never made a Mustang station wagon of its own, despite the fact that both the Falcon and Fairlane that the Mustang borrowed heavily from had wagon variants.

In fact, that is how this Mustang wagon was formed. A 1967 Country Squire Wagon was sectioned and narrowed to fit to a ’68 Mustang front end. There is no big pillar and despite being a wagon, it just looks natural, familiar. It has a mild 302 engine under the hood backed by a C4 transmission and it was just completed less than a year ago. Ford really missed the boat by not making a Mustang wagon itself!
