One of the coolest things about period-correct Gassers is the lack of rules. Year, make, model do play a role, but for the most part it’s all about what the driver or racer wanted to do with their ride. Generally a Gasser will have a straight axle-type suspension up front and maybe some other necessary body modifications, but outside of that, the sky is the limit. And a great example of this vivid variety is this ultra-cool 1941 Ford Pickup Gasser for sale on eBay — this thing checks all the boxes for the Gasser lover and then some.

The Ford trucks built in 1941 didn’t come with a wide range of power plant options, and definitely not with this kind of power. You could get the classic Ford Flathead V8, a four cylinder tractor motor for economy, or the newly introduced six-banger. These trucks really had only one purpose, and that was to do some form of work either on the farm or at the factory in an industrial setting.

You really don’t see many pickup truck Gassers at the race track and that’s what makes this 1941 Ford so neat. It’s clear this truck has had some body modifications done, but they just add to the unique look. Inside the truck there’s not much besides the Auto Meter Gauges, a couple “seats” and giant aluminum shifter handle topped with a piston shift knob.

Up front is a classic 350 cubic inch small block Chevy that’s wearing a cross-ram intake and Holley carburetor. Giving the truck an interesting look is the pair of mailbox-style intakes on each carb. The Ford is rolling on classic Cragar Mag wheels that go well with the wheelie bars out back.
