The Mustang platform is dominating in World Challenge competition so far in 2014.

This past Saturday at the Pirelli World Challenge race held in Toronto, Dean Martin piloted his Picture Cars East/Rehagen Racing Mustang BOSS 302S to the win in the GTS class in his very first race wearing a sweet set of Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels

After starting seventh, Martin managed to escape unscathed from an on-track incident that caused a 15-minute full-course caution flag to come out. Another caution flag came out late in the race, where Lawson Aschenbach made a charge, but Martin was able to hold him off for the victory. Jack Roush, Jr. took his ROUSH Racing  BOSS 302R to the third-place position for a spot on the podium on Saturday.

Texas native Alec Udell took the Number 17 Watson Racing/MDG Mustang BOSS 302S to the second spot on the podium on Sunday in the GTS class, just behind race winner and points leader Mark Wilkins. Udell finished fifth during Saturday’s race and improved his performance on Sunday. Roush continued to be consistent, landing on the podium with a third-place finish on Sunday also.

Currently Wilkins has the GTS points lead with 983 points, followed closely by Dean Martin with 842 points. Roush sits in fifth with 741 points.

The next event for the Pirelli World Challenge series will be held over the weekend of August 1-3 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio in conjunction with the IndyCars racing the Honda Indy 200.
