For many Mustang enthusiasts, one of the most sought after platforms is the ’03-’04 SVT Cobra, code named the Terminator. It’s one of those cars that come straight out of the factory with badass written all over it. Add a few mods, or a lot of mods, and it can be quite the screamin’ demon.
Starting in 2003, the Terminator came with a 4.6-liter DOHC V8 engine stuffed with some of the best forged internals from the aftermarket and mated to an Eaton M112 roots supercharger giving the ’03-’04 Cobra a generous 390 horsepower. Not only did SVT give the Cobra a stock roots supercharger, they also installed an independent rear suspension. Also, an aluminum flywheel was added and connected to a six-speed Tremec T-56 manual transmission. A few other modifications include a 3.55:1 rear axle ratio, stronger 31-spline half shafts, and updated upper and lower control arms. With all of these modifications tied together, the Cobra can launch from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and dominate the quarter mile in the 12-second range at about 110 mph. That’s all straight from SVT.
We stumbled across this 2003 SVT Cobra on Craigslist and it is a monster with a hefty list of aftermarket mods that we certainly approve of. It is tuned by Bob Kurgan, tuning guru and legend of NMRA’s Renegade Series which is badass alone, and we seriously dig the black exterior complimented with 18-inch Foose powder-coated black and red wheels.
This monster Cobra’s bark backs up its bite with 732 hp and 638 ft-lbs of torque making their way to the rear tires on 93 octane pump fuel. Aftermarket modifications include a F1A Procharger running 18 psi, big red race BPV, Diablo Mafia MAF Extender, 80 lb injectors, high flow fuel rails, Kenne Bell boost-a-pump, and a Sullivan high-rise intake.
Also added for increased airflow are headers (no cats), MAC Prochamber x-pipe and cat-back exhaust setup. That’s not all, it features a SPEC stage 3+ clutch, tubular front-k-member, subframe connectors, and three-pod A-pillar gauges. The Cobra sits on lowered stock springs, and the car has a brand new battery, new front pads and rotors, and a new alignment.
Normal wear and tear on the exterior, but in great shape for a car that is ten years old. According to the seller, the interior has been kept very clean. This bad boy can be yours for just $29,000. Please scoop it up before we do!
