What do you do when you’re in the market for a new project car, and you come across this ruin of a 1994 SVT Cobra Mustang on Craigslist? You can’t help but stop and stare, and who could blame you? This thing has a supercharger that sticks up about two feet above its hood. It nearly matches the roofline (okay, maybe we’re exaggerating…depending on what angle you look at it from).
But there’s more to this ’94 Cobra Mustang than that comically-sized supercharger rocking a “bug catcher” style supercharger scoop. In fact, it’s owner Peter Armao, has put a lot of time and effort into this “one-of-a-kind” vehicle (if you want to call it that). Armao tells us that he’s looking to sell the project in an effort to fund a new one–and at a quaint asking price of only $6,000–this might just be your next project.
Of course we think it goes without saying, owning a car as wacky as this necessitates an owner just as equally unique. Though the car has never seen a dyno, Armao says he’s confident the car makes a respectable (and precise) 397 horsepower–followed by a (true?) rating of 350 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. We’re not sure which one it is exactly.
As he puts it, “This is the cheapest supercharged Cobra on Craigslist for a reason. I want the money so I can build my turbocharged 460 Galaxie. Can’t do projects without money. This is my complete project. A 1994 Cobra with 4.10 rear gears, straight pipe exhaust to dual Flowmaster Super 44s, and a supercharged, intercooled, 5.0-liter push rod V8 churning out around 397 hp before parasitic loss. She makes approximately 350 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.”

Undoubtedly, the Eaton M90 supercharger adds a nice touch to this ’94 Cobra in regards to power. From a looks standpoint? Well, that’s up to interpretation of course. But Amaro is quite confident this Mustang was done in excellent taste. He details in the original ad, “You will learn as people tell you–this is not a nice car. This is an awesome car. It’ll sink in after the 10th or 11th person tells you in the first two weeks.”
So here’s what this Cobra breaks down to. For $6,000, you’re getting a “massive” Eaton M90 supercharger with a ’94 Cobra attached to it. Not, but seriously, aside from its looks, it does have some mentionable modifications. A bevy of supporting components for the newfound forced induction have been added as well, along with a few components from MSD Performance to control everything.
New fuel components, a full exhaust, and a custom single stage blowoff valve and 44mm wastegate controls everything smoothly, according to Amaro. “I hand fabricated all of the parts of the kit,” Amaro says. “This car has never been dynoed or fine tuned, but it is fast and powerful as I have built it.”
Love it or hate it, you have to admit–this '94 Cobra has one undomesticated angle on it.
