We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again; browsing Craigslist can yield some pretty awesome results if you know what to look for. But every now and then, we come across an ad that we can’t help but scratch our heads at. Now, that’s not to say we’re not intrigued at what we see–we’re more or less slightly confused (in a good way?).
This was exactly the case when we came across this particular 2016 Shelby GT350 for sale on Craigslist. The ad here explains that this car is allegedly one of the rarest Shelby Mustangs ever produced. The owner goes on to say that this model is a “true base” vehicle.
“Car is in exceptional shape like new with less than 2400 miles. This is the “rarest” of the Shelby GT350s; even more rare than the “R” model. With less than 50 of the black “true base” cars made for the 2016 model year, and not available in any other year. This car is to only to go up in value,” the owner exclaimed. An interesting passage indeed, as we’ve never come across one of these “true base” Shelby Mustangs before ourselves.
But we can only guess the big selling point of one of these models is the fact that they do not include any “electronic control gizmo overrides that the other cars have,” That, and the fact that the owner says this car “far outperformed Ford’s flagship “R” model in every way,” and that, “all of the “true base” cars were discontinued in 2016,” What are your thoughts? Just another gimmick, or could he be sitting on a future gold mine? The asking price $72,000.
