On July 10, 2015, get your classic out and go for a ride—all of us will.
In a tradition that began only a few short years ago, the SEMA Action Network (SAN) announced that the 2015 “Collector Car Appreciation Day” will be celebrated on July 10, 2015. The year marks the sixth consecutive celebration in what is now an annual event that is designed to raise awareness as to how important automotive restoration and collection is to the American people.
The event is intended to bring together enthusiasts, and celebrate the classic rides of the past, and even the current “classics” that are the predecessors to our hobby’s future. SEMA teamed up with the US Senate to help launch Collector Car Appreciation Day. This was finally accomplished by the Senate passing resolutions each year at the SAN’s request. The previous resolutions were sponsored by Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), and Senator Mark Begich (D-AK). The Senators have been strong advocates for the automotive hobby in Washington, DC, and recognize the integral role that the collector car has played in fostering our nation’s appreciation for the automobile’s unique place in our history.
Below, you will find a list of scheduled events that are designed to commemorate America’s time-tested love affair with the automobile. Individuals, car clubs, and especially business owners that are interested in publicizing events can submit the details of their July celebration at no cost by using this link. If you are unable to celebrate on July 10, the SEMA Action Network encourages events to be scheduled throughout the month of July 2015.
