It was way back at SEMA 2009 that awesome classic Mustang maker Classic Recreations first introduced the Shelby GT500CR. This vehicle is a beautiful combination of classic looks and modern muscle. But while 545 horsepower sounds like a lot, true gearheads know that there is no such thing as too much power.

And Classic Recreations is ready and willing to oblige them with the GT500CR Venom. Mustangs Daily reports that this modern classic will have 790 horsepower thanks to a supercharged 427 cubic-inch big-block engine.

That is almost a 250 horsepower jump, putting this registered Shelby towards the top of the heap when it comes to raw power. There’s nothing classic about this engine, which has fuel injection, a F1-R Procharger with a 3-core intercooler. Backing this is a Tremec manual transmission. How many speeds this manual tranny has, they never say, but when you’re dropping $200,000 on a car like this, you can pretty much order it how you want it.

Yet it still comes with a certain level of distinction and exclusivity because it is an officially licensed Shelby product, and part of the Shelby registry. Make no mistake though, this is modern with supercar handling in the most iconic of all Mustang body styles. So you get all the modern creature comforts and conveniences in a classic package.
