Stampeding towards a $5,000 donation to the well know ALS foundation, our friend Bill Tumas from CJ Pony Parts and the rest of the CJ’s team have taken the Ice Bucket challenge to a new level. Throwing down pony style the team lined up together and not only accepted the ice bucket challenge with a smile on their faces but also donated a $1,000 as well to the foundation right off the top.
Upping the ante Tumas and company challenged the fans and customers of CJ Pony Parts to view and share the video produced by the team to help raise awareness and to promote donations to the ALS foundation in the hopes of finding a cure for this debilitating disease. It doesn’t not stop there, the CJ Pony Parts team has committed to an additional $5,000 donation after the video receives 10,000 hits. Yes this team is showing how they give their support for a cause the “Mustang Family Way”. Involving all in the community to help bring this cause to the fore front.ALS was first described in 1869 by French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot, but it wasn’t until 1939 that Lou Gehrig brought national and international attention to the disease when he abruptly retired from baseball after being diagnosed with the condition. Most commonly, the disease strikes people between the ages of 40 and 70, and as many as 30,000 Americans have the disease at any given time.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS sadly eventually leads to death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
With the CJ Pony Parts challenge now handed down to the Mustang community we expect the pony fans to welcome this with open arms. Showing how this small tight nit community comes together for a purpose. Be sure to share the video throughout the community and with your friends and family.
