Centerforce to Debut CR Supercars’ ’68 “Villain” Mustang at SEMA

Classic Mustangs are awesome but they’re even better when one of the industry’s latest custom car creators builds one to be one heck of a modern monster! That’s exactly the case with the Villain– a Centerforce-equipped 1968 Mustang Fastback created by the new supercar division of Classic Recreations, CR Supercars. Check out the car and where you can see it unveiled for the first time below!

centerforce_mustang_2Built atop a Detroit Speed Aluma-frame with Corvette- based A-arms, a DSE QUADRALink 4-link rear suspension, and a fully-adjustable DSE/JRi coilover system, the Villain, CR Supercar’s first prototype car, was built for handling and speed. Of course, you can’t build a car for performance without also making use of a powerful powertrain combination, so Villain makes use of an all-aluminum Ford Racing DOHC 5.0L Coyote engine backed by a Tremec T5 5-speed, which is further enhanced with a Centerforce clutch. This potent combination gives the classic Mustang a hefty 420 hp punch.

Stopping power for the Mustang is provided by 14-inch, six-piston caliper brakes from Wilwood on all four corners, while 18×9.5 and 18×12-inch Forgeline Grip Equipped Series wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 shoes provide road gripping power to the front and rear of the vehicle respectably.

All this is combined with a classic orange and black paint scheme, Kicker sound system and Old Air climate control system for the perfect mix of classically-inspired looks and modern performance inside and out.

Never before shown to the public, Villain will make its official debut at the 2014 SEMA Show on Tuesday, November 4th at the Centerforce SEMA booth (No. 23813 in the Central Hall) at 2:30pm. MMA fighter Josh Barnett will do the honors of unveiling the car while Centerforce will also honor company founder and SEMA hall-of-famer Bill Hays at the Mustang’s debut. On hand for the debut and tribute will be Bill Hays’ son Mike Hays, Centerforce Clutch’s Pat Wilson, Jason Engel of CR Supercars, industry icon Linda Vaughn and legendary drag racer Tom McEwen.

If you’re going to be at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, make sure not to miss the special debut of Villain.
