Since last year, we’ve noticed a trend among the industry centering around Ford Performance vehicles receiving various awards through different media outlets. The all-new 2017 Ford GT has won a few prestigious decorations for its incorporation of sophisticated technologies–like the use of carbon fiber body panels, wheels and stunning electronics.
Continuing that trend is of course the Shelby GT350, which also integrates the use of carbon fiber wheels on the “R” version–while the Mustang, Focus and the F-150 have also won separate awards at this year’s SEMA Show out of Las Vegas, Nevada, respectfully.
It looks as if the time has come for the all-new F-150 Raptor to receive an award, as our friends at Cars.com have named this unique EcoBoost-powered F-series truck the “Best Pickup of 2017” recently–and for good reason. As the folks at Cars.com pointed out, what makes the all-new F-150 Raptor such an advanced pickup truck is all of the technology that’s been integrated into it.
Part of that technology integration brings-forth more fuel efficiency, thanks to the use of an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission–a first for any Ford vehicle thus far. This transmission is rumored to be seen in a future iteration of the Mustang as well. Among those reasons, Cars.com also chose the F-150 Raptor for its use of heavy-duty Fox Racing shocks, a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, and the addition of the new six-mode multiterrain system. All great reasons, if you were to ask us–and we can’t wait to see the capabilities of the all-new 2017 F-150 Raptor in action.
