Breast cancer is one of the leading killers of women, and there are innumerable foundations out there dedicated to raising money and finding a cure for this often deadly disease. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has been particularly prevalent in promoting “pink” products as a means to raise money for breast cancer research.
A Canadian Ford dealer in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada has painted a special Ford Mustang in a way they hope appeals to those who want to support breast cancer research. Ed Learn Ford will donate $1,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Foundation when someone buys this pinked-out Mustang.
While many Ford dealers actively support local, national, and international charities, sometimes a physical reward is necessary to convince would-be do-gooders to pry open their wallets. In this case, that reward is a 2013 or 2014 Ford Mustang V6, once rocking a pure white paint job, it has now been customized with pink graphics, pink wheels, and a pink racing stripe. It actually looks good, and we can think of several women who have lamented to us recently that Mustangs only come in a handful of colors, asking where’s the girly colors? Ladies, your wish has been granted, and for a good cause.
The original Mustang owes its success not to the big, powerful V8 engines, but to the women who flocked to dealerships in droves to buy lesser versions of the car. Ed Learn Ford has pledged to donate $1,000 to whomever buys this special Mustang. So you can get the car of your dreams, and feel good about money going to a worthy cause to boot. That’s what we call a win-win situation.
