If you think this 2010 Ford Mustang RTR-C is just like any other Mustang on the road, you’d be sadly mistaken. This car was owned by none other than world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., whose team at Mustang RTR designed this all-carbon-fiber S197 for the SEMA show.

Mustang RTR’s mission is bringing enthusiasts like us a Ready To Rock, turn-key Mustangs that carry a bit of JR’s swagger along with a healthy dose of performance. These cars are typcially available straight from any Ford dealership in the country, but you are unlikely to see an RTR-C on your dealer lot.

“The hand-built, one-of-one RTR-C was built as a halo car to launch the world-famous, game-changing RTR brand,” says Barrett-Jackson. “One hundred percent of the exterior sheetmetal of the body was removed and was replaced with first-rate carbon fiber, dropping 500 pounds from the weight of the factory 2010 Ford Mustang.”

Nearly a decade later, it’s clear that the latest RTR Mustangs have evolved dramatically, but we can’t forget where they all once started, and that’s with Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s first example, available for auction this month at Barrett-Jackson.

For this special build the Mustang RTR team performed the aforementioned carbon-fiber makeover, along with adding 20-inch, carbon fiber HRE wheels, which were a $25,000 option. Furthermore, this Mustang’s Three-Valve 4.6-liter engine is rocking a Ford Performance Whipple supercharger, making it good for more than 550 horsepower.

Moreover, the RTR-C features a a full complement of Autosport Dynamics, Mustang RTR, and TEIN suspension upgrades, which can be adjusted for use on the street or the track. Other mods include a full exhaust from the long-tube headers back, and a completely revamped interior with carbon fiber bits and Sparco seats.

The RTR-C is a one-of-one build, and will be available at the Northeast Barrett-Jackson auction held at Mohegan Sun Casino Resport in Uncasville, Connecticut on June 21-24.
