1994 was a watershed year for the Ford Mustang. It represented the first significant chassis change to the Mustang platform in 15 years, prepping the pony car to enter the 21st century of performance cars. That meant better brakes, better handling, and an aerodynamic look that was worlds away from the Fox-body platform. It also brought on a slew of special editions, including the Indy Pace Car and Cobra.

So it’s not surprising that there is a pristine, low-mileage ‘94 Mustang Cobra Indy Pace Car convertible up for sale over at Auctions America. What is surprising, as Mustangs Daily reports, is just how low the mileage is; just 21 miles in 18 years. That’s less than 1.5 miles a year!

Now we’ve come across some low-mileage Mustangs before, and generally anything with under 10,000 miles is the most desirable. After all, who buys a car and never takes it out for a joy ride? A true collector, that’s who. This car was kept in a climate-controlled garage, and decked out with every option, package, and feature available. While the auction says 24 miles, the picture below indicates 21…so that’s what we’ll go with. At such a low mileage, does the extra 3 miles really even matter?

Just 1,000 of these ‘94 Cobra pace car convertibles were built, and with such low mileage this is no doubt one of the best left in existence. It’s never even been titled, making it more museum piece than muscle car anymore. Despite all of this though, the estimated selling price is only between $28,000 and $34,000. In other words, the market for SN95 Mustangs has not yet matured…and may never mature at that.
