3D Renderings Reveal Sleeker Mustang

With the SEMA show behind us, and our coverage nearly wrapped up, we once again turn our story to what will be the biggest story for Mustang, Ford faithful, and the rest of the aftermarket and performance industry, the debut of the 2015 Ford Mustang.

Thanks once again to our friends at Mustang6g.com, we again have some of the latest insight into what the 2015 Mustang may look like.

Based on spy photos and other information that is available Mustang6g member Charles Cronley (user name chazrcon) with the help of user JJW, have created a spinning 3D rendering of what they think will be the next generation pony car.

They’ve based the information like their other renderings on their interpretations of spy photos and their own experience in graphic design with Cronley having over 20 years making his living from working with Photoshop.

Watching the 3D spin, we can see several lines in the car that look similar to those in the current Ford design language based on the EVOS concept. Seeing the car imagined in 3D does make it look better than any of the other renderings we’ve seen so far. A design element that seems to stick out prominently in this rendering is the angle of the windshield and the roof-line, which appears lower with a more severe angle both front and rear.

The tail light panel also has more of an upward slope, and the deck lid in this rendering is very small, leading us to wonder, could the Mustang be about to go Hatchback for the first time since 1993? Nothing else in the rendering leads us in that direction, it could simply be that the trunk lid will be very small like in late 60’s fastback Mustangs.

Mustang6g has also posted a video of how Cronley’s renderings have evolved over time. To join the discussion on this post your comments below, and also be sure to check out the thread over at Mustang6g.
