With the unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang, we finally know what to expect from the Blue Oval’s latest and greatest pony cars. Looking back, it’s pretty amazing to think how accurate many of the early renderings were. It makes us wonder which other rumors, such as the proposed Mach 1 and GT350 variants, have more than a grain of truth of them.

Motor Authority reports that designer Matt Hilburn has put out his own take of what he thinks the 2015 Mustang variants will look like, and we’ve got to say, we like his vision of the Mustang’s future.

As it stands, we only have historical contexts to go by, but that didn’t stop Hilburn from photoshopping some awesome-looking renderings of factory Mustang variants. Traditionally, the Mach 1 package as a more “streetable” performance and appearance package that included options like the Shaker hood. While Hilburn added no Shaker hood in his rendering, he did add a heat extractor hood, which these days might even be better.

The Shelby GT350 is rumored to replace the GT500, and will be more track-focused than the monster GT500. To wit, Hilburn made the 2015 GT350 ride lower, and added a carbon fiber lower splitter. We’re left wondering, if the rumors are true, does that mean the new GT350 will get the 5.0 V8 or even the 2.3 EcoBoost?

With rumors circulating that a Mustang GT will now be able to beat the S197 based BOSS 302 on the track, we’re excited to see what other packages Ford comes out with. Where are the scooped cars? The ones we saw in spy photos with obvious hood and other scoops. Is that the next GT350 or is it something else entirely? Only time will tell, we’re hoping Ford will open up and give us more answers in the coming months. Until then stay tuned here for the latest.
