There’s going to be a lot of exciting news coming out for Mustang fans over the next few months with the 50th anniversary finally in the books we can’t wait to see what else Ford has cooked up. Some things we’re sure will be a surprise, while others we pretty much already had figured out. With the popularity of the Recaro seat option in Ford’s many performance vehicles, why wouldn’t the option be offered on the 2015 Mustang?
But just in case you were wondering, the Torque Report says that Recaro has confirmed that its sporty racing seats will be offered in both the 2015 Mustang GT and EcoBoost models. The sportier seats will once again be offered as a standalone option, meaning you won’t have to shell out for a package full of options you’ll never use.
In addition to continuing to provide seats for the Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST, the Recaro seats can be had as a standalone option in the 2015 Mustang. That’s how it is with the current Mustang GT, though the Recaro seat option first appeared on the 2012 Boss 302. These seats are so popular that they’re now offered in the Mustang, Focus, and Fiesta.
Including the seats as an option on the EcoBoost Mustang also hints that Ford is going to position the four-cylinder turbo as a performance alternative to the V6, which gets no such sporty seat option. As far as costs go, the current Mustang GT can get the option for $1,595, and we don’t expect that price to go down.
If you want something nicer than the standard buckets, or plan to do any kind of racing this is definitely the way to go.
